Revealed: Africa’s 5 Richest Heads of State

According to updated global wealth rankings, two African leaders have secured spots among the world’s 15 wealthiest heads of state. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, and Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, have both been listed among the richest world leaders in 2025.

Kagame, with an estimated net worth of $500 million, ranks 8th, while Ramaphosa follows closely at 9th with $450 million. Their inclusion highlights Africa’s growing presence in global wealth conversations, especially among political leaders.

Here’s the full list of the Top 15 Richest World Leaders in 2025:

1. Vladimir Putin (Russia) – $200 billion

2. Kim Jong Un (North Korea) – $5 billion

3. Donald Trump (USA) – $4.9 billion

4. Xi Jinping (China) – $1.5 billion

5. Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo (Equatorial Guinea) – $600 million

6. Ilham Aliyev (Azerbaijan) – $500 million

7. Recep Tayyip Erdogan (Turkey) – $500 million

8. Paul Kagame (Rwanda) – $500 million

9. Cyril Ramaphosa (South Africa) – $450 million

10. William Ruto (Kenya) – $400 million

11. Thaksin Shinawatra (Thailand) – $199 million

12. Emmanuel Macron (France) – $31.5 million
