Ebonyi State Police Command says a suspected member of a notorious car-snatching syndicate has been apprehended and a stolen school bus recovered from him.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, in a statement referenced AZ:5200/EBS/PPRO/VOL.9/19, identified the suspect as Nwali Chibuike Solomon.
According to Ukandu, the suspect was arrested on May 15, 2025, while attempting to sell the stolen vehicle in the Idembia community, Ezza South Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that the recovered vehicle was originally stolen from a private school based in Abuja in March 2025, where it was being used as a school bus. The vehicle had already been re-registered in the suspect’s name.
Commenting on the development, the Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, urged members of the public to utilize the Nigeria Police Force Digitised Central Motor Registry (E-CMR) platform to register their vehicles for improved tracking and recovery in the event of theft.
