Edo State Government has announced the appointment of Imuetinyan Otuomagie as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the New Edo Line Ltd as the company gets set to begin operations June 27, 2025.
According to a special announcement signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government, the Governor has also approved the following individuals as inaugural management of the company.
Sunday Anetor – General Manager, Administration
Henry Ozara Obozoakhai – General Manager, Operations
Opitoke Marian – General Manager, Finance and Accounts
Ugberaese Sylvester Osezua – Company Secretary
The newly appointed team has been tasked with bringing their experience and expertise to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery as the company begins operations. The appointments are with immediate effect.
The launch of New Edo Line Ltd is part of the state’s broader initiative to modernize and expand public transportation infrastructure, providing safer, faster, and more efficient travel options for residents and visitors alike.
An announcement that commence operations on June 27, 2025 was made on Tuesday by Governor Monday Okpebholo according to a Press statement by Fred Itua his Chief Press Secretary after he inspected facilities at the company’s new location in Benin City.
Itua said Governor Okpebholo who personally assessed the progress at the New Edo Line station, expressed satisfaction with the preparations.
The governor said “I’ve just come to look at the work that is going on here, in the New Edo Line station. The vehicles are ready. Everything is set. We are trying to see how we can commence. The idea is to come and look at the level of preparation of our commencement.”
Managing Director of the Edo State Transport Authority, Oligbe Henshaw, the affirmed the readiness of the terminal, “This is the State terminal for the New Edo Line Nigeria Ltd. And by the special grace of God on the 27th of June this year, we shall be commencing operations properly”.
He further assured that ongoing projects at the terminal, including partitioning, CCTV installation, and the control room, would be completed by next week Friday.
