Nigeria’s premier private university, Igbinedion University, Okada, has appointed Mr. Ahola Orgeh as its new Registrar. He succeeds Mr. Friday Benji Bakare, whose tenure recently ended.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Public Relations, Mr. Lucky U. Eboho-Onokwe, the university described Mr. Orgeh as an accomplished university administrator with vast experience.
“Mr. Orgeh brings extensive administrative experience to his new role,” the statement read. “He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from the University of Ibadan (1999).”
The statement added: “He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI) and a member of several professional bodies, including the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA).”
Mr. Eboho-Onokwe also noted that Mr. Orgeh has served as Deputy Registrar at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi; the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State; and Benue State University, Makurdi. “Notably, he previously worked at Igbinedion University as a senior executive in the Registry Division early in his career,” he said.
A native of Adim-Akp in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. Orgeh is expected to assume duty on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
“The University Community warmly welcomes him,” the statement concluded, “and looks forward to his innovative administrative initiatives that will further elevate the institution’s global standing.”
