Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has officially welcomed athletes, coaches, and officials to the 4th Edition of the EKUS Judo Championship in Benin City.

The prestigious judo tournament, organised by the National Judo Federation (NJF), aims to discover and nurture young judo talents in Edo State and across Nigeria.

In a statement by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele described the EKUS Judo Championship as a vital part of Edo State’s grassroots sports development drive.

He stressed that the championship aligns perfectly with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to youth empowerment through sports.

According to Enabulele, the Edo State Sports Commission will continue to support programmes that promote talent discovery, sports excellence, and positive youth engagement.

He praised the National Judo Federation for its dedication to promoting judo and building the next generation of Nigerian champions.

“As a government, we remain focused on supporting sports at all levels. Competitions like the EKUS Judo Championship play a critical role in identifying hidden talents, fostering discipline, teamwork, and nurturing future champions who can make Edo State and Nigeria proud,” Enabulele said.

The 4th Edition of the EKUS Judo Championship is expected to attract budding judo athletes from within and outside Edo State, providing them with an opportunity to compete, grow, and aim for national and international recognition.

Edo State Sports Commission under Hon. Enabulele’s leadership has continued to champion Governor Okpebholo’s vision of sports development as a tool for youth empowerment, job creation, and social development.
