Police Recover Two Stolen Vehicles, Arms in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV and a Hyundai saloon car from a wanted suspect in Asaba.
In addition, two Beretta pistols with live ammunition and various other firearms were recovered from suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, who are currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday. “The recovery followed a well-coordinated operation by the command’s Special Assignment Team, which successfully stormed the residence of the wanted suspect,” he said. “We remain committed to pursuing criminal elements in the state until they are brought to justice.”
In a separate operation, Edafe revealed that several suspected kidnappers were arrested in Agbarho community.

“Following the arrest, a search was conducted, leading to the recovery of three double-barrel guns, a pump-action gun, and several rounds of ammunition,” he stated.
He also disclosed the arrest of a suspected cultist believed to be a leader of the Vikings Confraternity. “The suspect was found with a Beretta pistol and confessed during interrogation that he holds a leadership role within the group,” Edafe added.

Commenting on the success of the operations, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, commended the gallantry of his officers. “These recoveries and arrests are proof that the Delta State Police Command is working round the clock to rid the state of criminal elements,” he said.
“We will not rest until Delta State is completely safe for our people to live and for businesses to thrive,” the CP affirmed.
