Pandemonium in Akugbene as Landslide Shake Homes, Businesses

Panic gripped residents of Akugbene Community in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday following a landslide that shook several properties, including homes, a jetty, and popular relaxation spots.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day, prompting panic among residents who were confused as the ground was cracking up beneath structures close to the riverbank.

“There was a rumble, and within minutes, the the ground was opening,” one resident recounted. “People were shouting and running in every direction. It was like a nightmare.”
