EDSTMA Reviews and Updates Parking Guidelines Across Key Roads

The Edo State Traffic Control and Management Agency (EDSTMA), under the Edo State Government, has released a revised Parking Purview for the State aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic within the state capital.

This update reflects the growing demands of road users and is designed to curb indiscriminate parking, which remains a major cause of congestion and accidents across critical routes. The reviewed parking policy specifies where parking is restricted or prohibited entirely across multiple high-traffic areas in the city.

In a statement Mr Stainless Ijegede who is the Managing Director of the agency described key areas affected by the new parking regulations as follows:

1. Auchi – Bank Road: No parking on the right side (Igarra Junction to A.P. Junction)

2. Ekpoma – Royal Market Road: No parking on the left side (Market Square to Anglican Church)

3. Ugbowo Lagos Road: No parking on both sides (UBTH to Uniben Gate)

4. Sakponba Road: No parking on both sides (Aruosa traffic light to Erie)

5. Akpakpava Road:No parking on both sides (Ring Road to Total Filling Station)

No parking on both sides (Akpakpava by Dawson to Oghogho Street Junction)

6. Airport Road: No parking on both sides (Ring Road to Ezotti Junction)

No parking on right side (Ezotti Junction to Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub)

No parking on right side (From Airport Road Airport Exit Gate to Staff Quarters)

No parking on the ITV side (Golf Course Junction)

Other sections also include no parking on the right

7. Arala Street (Opp. Keystone Bank): No parking on the right side

8. Irhirhi Road: No parking on the right side

9. Ihama Road: No parking on the right side (Edo Agriculture Hub to Ogba Zoo)

EDSTMA Boss urged all motorists and stakeholders to strictly adhere to these parking regulations to avoid penalties. The general public is encouraged to circulate this information widely.
