The Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, has advocated for adequate funding for the Nigeria Police Force to enable it to effectively carry out its role in ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians.
Speaking during a visit to the Inspector General of Police in Abuja, Mr. Ogunjimi stated that the Nigeria Police deserves all the support it needs to succeed.
He emphasized his office’s commitment to collaborating with the police to secure the necessary resources that will help make Nigeria safer for its citizens.
Mr. Ogunjimi noted that the visit was aimed at appreciating the work of the Police and identifying areas where the Office of the Accountant General could provide support.
In his remarks, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, welcomed the Accountant General to the Louis Edet House, the Force Headquarters, and acknowledged the critical role the Accountant General’s Office plays in managing the nation’s finances.
He expressed the force’s openness to exploring new avenues of collaboration with the Accountant General’s Office to drive improvements in the operations and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
