Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has urged parents, guardians, teachers, and all stakeholders to continue to play their crucial roles in guiding and mentoring children, by instilling in them sound values, and encouraging them to pursue their aspirations.

In his message on the occasion of Children’s Day, the Governor, in a statement, signed by Mr Fred Itua his Chief Press Secretary extends warm felicitations to all children in Edo State and across Nigeria.

Recognizing Children’s Day as a significant opportunity to celebrate the boundless potential, innocence, and vibrant spirit of our young ones, who are the true leaders of tomorrow,

he urged parents and guardians to dissuade their children from joining cult groups.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring their well-being, providing them with quality education, and creating an environment where they can thrive and realize their full potential.

“Our children are our most precious assets. Their dreams are the blueprints for a brighter future for Edo State. As an administration, we are fully dedicated to investing in their development, protecting their rights, and nurturing their talents.”

He highlighted some key initiatives and commitments of his administration aimed at improving the lives of Edo children, to include declaration of a state of emergency in public schools and ongoing reconstruction and renovation efforts across the state and the protection of Children’s Rights.

According to the governor “We believe that every child deserves a fair chance at success, irrespective of their background”, and “We will continue to work tirelessly to provide them with the necessary tools and support to excel in their academic pursuits, develop their skills, and contribute meaningfully to society.”
