Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of 22 members of the Kano State contingent who died in an auto crash while returning from the 2024 National Sports Festival held in Ogun State.

In a statement released through his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele described the incident as both devastating and a monumental loss to the entire Nigerian sports community.

“Just like yesterday—precisely on Thursday—I vividly remember these individuals were at the same venue with us during the Kickboxing event, cheering their team to victory that night. Then, just a few hours later, they were gone. This is truly shocking,” the Commission Chairman said.

Concluding, Enabulele prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed athletes, journalists, administrators, and medical personnel, saying, “May their souls rest in perfect peace.”
