The Edo State Government has paid glowing tribute to the late firefighter, Mr. Andrew Omotor, who lost his life in the line of duty during a fire incident in January in Benin City, the state capital.

Describing Omotor as a committed and professional officer, the government commended his unwavering dedication, hard work, and bravery in the service of the state.

Executive Secretary of the Edo State Emergency Management Agency (EdoSEMA), Hon. Jerry Idahosa, made these remarks during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased. He was accompanied by other officials of the agency. The late firefighter is survived by his wife, Blessing, and their six children.

“We will stand with you. Edo State will not forget your husband’s sacrifice,” Idahosa assured Mrs. Omotor, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the family during this difficult time.

As part of the visit, the EdoSEMA delegation delivered relief materials including bags of rice and beans, cooking oil, tubers of yam, school supplies, and other household essentials to ease the burden on the bereaved family.
