The National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity), Delta chapter known as Vito Corsica Deck, has announced its 2025 edition of the Feast of Barracuda, a renowned annual symposium aimed at dissecting Nigeria’s socio-political issues.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Anchor Point, No. 1 Anchor Point Road, opposite Alpha Bykeez Filling Station, Okpanam Road, Asaba, Delta State.
With a focus on deepening democratic governance and local administration, the event will explore two thought-provoking topics:
1. How Political Defections in Nigeria Impede the Accumulation of Strategic Management Experience in Government
2. The Influence of Fiscal Autonomy on Good Governance at the Local Level in Delta State
The Chairman of the Feast of Barracuda (FoB) will deliver the keynote address, alongside Hon. Anyafulu Bridget, a respected voice in Delta State’s legislative space, and Professor Ben Emukufia Oghojafor, an academic expert in organizational strategy and public policy.
Also scheduled to lend their insights are Hon. Chief Dr. Kelvin Obiezenyili, as well as a panel of distinguished discussants including Dr Enemhinye Ehigiator, Mr. Anthony Edemenaha, and Dr. Egondu Ikeatu.
According to organizers, this year’s Feast promises to spark critical dialogue on how Nigeria’s unstable political culture and lack of fiscal discipline at the grassroots level hinder long-term governance and development.
