The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) has announced a series of solemn prayer sessions involving all its staff towards the achievement of food security.

According to an internal circular dated June 11, 2025, and signed by the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Adedayo Modupe O., the prayer sessions are themed “Divine Intervention for Protection and National Development.”

The first of the events iis scheduled to hold at Conference Hall “B” of the Ministry’s Headquarters in Area 11, Garki, Abuja, between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. on designated days.

The circular further requests all staff—including Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, Value Chain Desk Officers, and others—to observe fasting on the following Mondays: June 16, 23, and 30, 2025, as part of the spiritual commitment to the cause.

“This is to invite all staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to a solemn prayer session for God’s guidance and success in supporting the Government’s efforts to achieve food security,” the circular stated.

The initiative underscores the Ministry’s belief in seeking divine assistance to meet Nigeria’s urgent agricultural needs and align with the Federal Government’s broader goals on food sufficiency and national prosperity.

It is not certain if the Minister has a hand in the prayer sessions.
