The 1370 prospective corps members comprising of 672 males and 698 female corps duly registered and sworn in as members of the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC 2025 Batch B Stream II, deployed to the State for the compulsory one-year service have pledged to serve their fatherland with dedication, honesty, and loyalty.
The Corps made the pledge when they took the Oath of Allegiance administered by the Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa, represented by Hon. Justice Vestee Otumaye Eboreime at the beginning of their orientation course at Okada, Ovia North-East Local Government Area.
Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo at the event pledged his administration’s commitment to the well-being and security of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) sent to serve in the state.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Aiyegbeni Balogun, the governor said “Edo State holds immense potentials for personal and professional growth. In the next one year you will discover numerous opportunities in agriculture, education, technology, entrepreneurship, tourism, amongst others.
“These sectors are central to our Development Agenda, and we encourage you to tap into them, leveraging the NYSC platform as a launchpad for your personal and professional aspirations”.
The Governor also urged the corps members to stay united as the NYSC has a mission to keep uniting Nigeria, foster development and empower young people.
“I urge you to cooperate fully with the NYSC Management during the Orientation Programme and beyond. The Orientation Course is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to excel during your service year and in your future endeavors. Participate actively, embrace the training and form lasting bonds with your peers from diverse backgrounds,”
