The Ladies of St. Mulumba Nigeria, Owerri Metropolitan Council, have reaffirmed their commitment to tackling key issues in education, celebrating contributions to improved learning opportunities, and driving progress across Imo State.
At an education summit held on June 18, 2025, at St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Owerri, the group emphasized its dedication to advancing education and empowerment in the state.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, wife of the Imo State Governor, who was represented by Mrs. Ijeoma Nduka, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, commended the Ladies of St. Mulumba for their numerous impactful initiatives.
She highlighted their scholarship programme, which supports students in tertiary institutions and seminaries across the state, describing it as “sowing seeds for the progress of our state and nation.”
“Equally inspiring is their empowerment programme for indigent women, both Catholics and non-Catholics, which reflects the inclusive spirit and compassion of Christian values,” she said.
“This initiative ensures that every deserving woman is equipped to improve her circumstances and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Mrs. Uzodimma added, “Such summits serve as vital forums for exchanging insights, forging strategic partnerships, and constructing pathways that translate aspirations into tangible achievements.”
