The Edo State Government has commenced a comprehensive capacity-building training for Education Officers, ICT Desk Officers, school principals, and Zonal Heads.

The training is aimed at strengthening the management and monitoring of teacher records, performance, deployment, and compliance across the state.

Speaking at the event, the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu—represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Edith Ebomoyi—described TMIS as a “game changer” for the state’s education system.

“We are proud to partner with BBGNSURF Ltd in redefining how education systems are managed. With TMIS, Edo is setting the pace for other states to follow,” he said, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and the ongoing digital transformation in education management.

The training is centered around the Teachers Management Information System (TMIS)—a digital platform designed to enhance biometric verification, track geo-tagged school locations, and provide real-time data analytics.

It hopes to streamline operations within the State Ministry of Education. BBGNSURF Technologies Ltd, in collaboration with UNICEF and other edtech stakeholders, is leading the practical demonstrations and guiding participants on the architecture and functionalities of the TMIS platform.
