Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has rolled out the red carpet at the Benin Airport to welcome the newly appointed Chairman of Bendel Insurance Football Club, Emperor Jarret Tenebe.
The reception was energetic, with supporters waving club flags and chanting in excitement, signaling high expectations for a new era of football resurgence.
In a statement issued through his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele expressed full confidence in Tenebe’s leadership capacity, noting his deep understanding of football and unwavering commitment to advancing the sport in Nigeria.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo is extremely passionate about sports development, particularly Bendel Insurance. With His Excellency’s continued support and Tenebe’s leadership, we are convinced the club is on track to becoming a force to reckon with—both in Nigeria and across Africa,” Enabulele declared.
He added, “Tenebe isn’t new to this. He has stood by the Club through thick and thin, and has shown what it takes to take us forward. This is the kind of leadership we need to restore Bendel Insurance’s lost glory.”
In his response, Emperor Jarret Tenebe said he was overwhelmed by the warm welcome and the trust placed in him. “I am truly elated. This club is in my blood. I’ve supported Bendel Insurance from my youth and stood with them during away matches—even last season when we finished fifth.”
“Football remains a powerful unifier. It cuts across religion and politics. With this unity and our collective vision, we will rise again. I have no doubt that the 2025/26 NPFL season will mark our return to winning ways,” he declared.
Supporters cheered loudly as Tenebe spoke, affirming their belief in his ability to steer the club toward success. The atmosphere was electric, filled with renewed hope and anticipation for what lies ahead.
