The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has reaffirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains Nigeria’s most institutionally-coherent and electorally-successful political platform, with unmatched records of reforms, inclusive governance, and national unity.
This was part of the key resolutions reached at the inaugural PGF regional meeting, which held over the weekend in Benin City, Edo State capital, and was hosted by the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In its communique, the forum acknowledged the resignation of the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on health grounds, describing the development as part of the party’s continued evolution and commitment to internal democracy.
The meeting also recognized the recent influx of governors, National Assembly members, and other prominent stakeholders into the APC as a strong testament to growing public confidence in the party’s leadership and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, emphasized that APC governors remain steadfast in their collective resolve to support President Tinubu’s administration in delivering sustainable reforms and socio-economic growth for Nigerians.
The gathering in Benin City provided a vital platform for the APC governors to harmonize regional development strategies, strengthen party unity, and renew their commitment to people-centered governance, institutional accountability, and inter-governmental cooperation across all APC-controlled states.
The forum restated its determination to continue working together to deliver good governance, deepen democratic processes, and ensure that the APC remains Nigeria’s dominant and most trusted political platform.
