Today marks the 50th day since 21-year-old James Ayodola Olusola, a 400-level Computer Science student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to his family, James Olusola was last seen on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at around 11:00 p.m.
The six-foot-tall undergraduate reportedly left the UNILAG campus early the next morning.
His elder brother, Jacob Olusola, an architect, confirmed that all efforts to trace his whereabouts have so far proved unsuccessful.
Speaking to PUNCH, Jacob said, “We’ve been looking for him since Friday, May 9, when his number became unreachable.
“The last time I personally spoke with him was on Wednesday, May 7. However, my sister managed to reach him briefly on May 9. He was last active online in the early hours of that Friday, and since then, nothing.”
He said further investigation revealed that James booked a Bolt ride from the UNILAG campus to Idumota at about 6:40 a.m. on May 9.
“The Bolt driver, when contacted, confirmed that James was casually dressed and did not appear to be heading for any official engagement, despite having an important appointment that day”.
The Olusola family is appealing to the general public, security agencies, and relevant authorities for any useful information that could help locate their missing son. They are urging anyone with credible leads to contact the nearest police station or reach out to the family directly.
